Bio Capt Greenslit

CAPTAIN LAWRENCE P. GREENSLIT, CHC, USN

Chaplain Greenslit is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating from Gordon College, Wenham, Massachusetts, in 1975 with a B.A. in History, he attended Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, and graduated in 1978 with a Master of Divinity degree. In 1982, Chaplain Greenslit was ordained into the Presbyterian Church (USA) and served as pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Plumville, Pennsylvania from 1982-1986. In 1986 he was commissioned as a LT(j.g.) in the United States Navy. Duty stations have included Naval Air Station Miramar (1986-1988), USS CONSTELLATION (CV 64) from 1988-1991, NAS Pensacola (1991-1993), 8th Communications Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina (1994-1997), CREDO Camp Lejeune (1997-2001), 7th Coast Guard District, Miami, Florida (2001-2004), 3rd Force Service Support Group, Okinawa, Japan (2004-2005), the U.S. Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania (2005-2006) and currently, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Quantico, Virginia, where he serves as the Command Chaplain. Captain Greenslit was awarded a Doctor of Education degree in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University in 2005, and graduated from the Army War College with a Masters in Strategic Studies in 2006. He is married to the former Amy Treneer, of Toppenish, Washington. They have two daughters, Kristin, 25, and Meghan, 23.
